Offense — FWhat is it going to take for the Broncos offense to start a second half in rhythm? They’ve deferred the coin toss each of the first five games this year and those half-openers have finished in four three-and-outs and a missed field goal. Sean Payton’s offense netted minus-16 yards on four third-quarter possessions against the Jets. Even two drives that stalled inside the New York 5-yard line in the first half looked pretty by comparison.Denver ran it all over New York early on and then did nothing — for long stretches literally less than nothing — most of the rest of the afternoon. Wilson mounted a 75-yard touchdown drive to get the Broncos within 24-21 with 4:44 to go, but then fumbled about 20 yards short of field goal range in the final minute. Ouch. He got battered all day by a barrage of pressure and hits from the Jets’ dominating front four.Defense — DThe best thing to be said about Vance Joseph’s group on Sunday is that it didn’t allow a touchdown to the Jets in th...Broncos four downs: Denver has now lost to Zach Wilson twice at home. Initial thoughts from Broncos’ 31-21 loss to the New York Jets in Week 5 at Empower Field at Mile High:Snowcapped helmets: It’s time. Time to bring back the D. It just feels right. The flying Bronco had his time. And it was glorious. Four Super Bowl trips. Three Lombardi Trophies. John Elway’s helicopter run. Von Miller tugging on Superman’s cape. But it just isn’t the D. The Broncos’ Snowcapped helmets were a nice reminder of that Sunday, even if the all-orange pants and tops that accompanied them were a complete abomination. The old is new again, and it should be here to stay.Feelin’ Jaleel: Five games in, there is no longer a debate. Jaleel McLaughlin is Denver’s most explosive running back, and getting him the ball 12-15 times a game should be a top priority. Head coach Sean Payton appeared to agree Sunday (at least early on). The undrafted free agent was the first running back on the field, and he had eight touches for 83 yards and a to...PHOTOS: Denver Broncos vs. New York Jets in NFL Week 5
